Tomorrow's Talent 2025: Mia Breading

Mia Breading, a content producer for LeadDev, is a passionate and driven events professional who thrives on challenge, creativity, and continuous learning. With a deep appreciation for the fast-paced nature of the industry, she embraces every opportunity for growth, whether it's overcoming barriers, pushing past fear, or building strong networks. Here, Mia reflects on her career journey so far, the lessons that have shaped her approach, and why she believes in turning fear into her superpower

What do you love the most about working in events?
Every day is a learning day—no two are the same! I thrive on challenge, so it’s important that I feel stimulated, pushed, and have opportunities for growth.

What does being a Tomorrow’s Talent winner mean to you?
It’s an incredible achievement and industry acknowledgement. Like many, I sometimes struggle with impostor syndrome, so this is a great reminder that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, thriving in a career I love—even on the tougher days.

What barriers have you faced entering the events industry, and how did you overcome them?
Events move fast, and often, you have to dive in without feeling fully onboarded. I’ve learned to trust my intuition, ask questions—even the “silly” ones—and be transparent about challenges. Mistakes happen, but they’re how we grow.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
“The grass is always greener where you water it.” Success isn’t about chasing the next opportunity but investing in where you are. Career growth happens in environments that nurture you, so it’s important to recognise what you need to thrive.

Who or what inspires you in your professional life?
I always say, “Fear is my superpower.” Fear can hold you back or push you forward—I choose the latter. Ambition doesn’t exist in your comfort zone, and the uncertainty of life is what drives me to do more, learn more, and make the most of every opportunity.

What habits have helped you grow professionally?
Find a mentor, or if you can’t, build a network of inspiring peers. Surrounding yourself with people who challenge and support you is invaluable, and it’s just as important to offer that same support in return.

What key lesson have you learned from a challenging experience?
Self-care onsite is essential. It’s easy to neglect basics like sleep, food, and water, but doing so impacts performance. A well-rested, supported team delivers the best events, so always check in on yourself and those around you.

If you could create a dream event for a fictional character, what would it be?
A Festival of Lasagne for Garfield! The world’s best lasagne chefs would compete for the top title, with cooking classes, live music, and, of course, a cat-friendly atmosphere!
