Tomorrow's Talent 2025: Joshua Marven

Tomorrow's Talent 2025: Joshua Marven

Joshua Marven, Event Manager at Blueprint Partners, has already made a significant mark in the events industry at just 24. From starting in hospitality to working on high-profile global projects, Joshua’s journey is a testament to determination, adaptability, and a passion for bringing people together. Here, he shares the defining moments of his career so far, the challenges he's overcome, and his vision for the future.

What has been a defining moment in your career to date?

In 2024, I was part of a Global Press Drive project for a major automotive client. It was a huge, high-pressure project with many challenges, requiring me to perform at my absolute best. Being involved in such a prestigious international event at 24 was an incredible experience and a defining milestone in my career.

What does being a Tomorrow’s Talent winner mean to you?

It means so much! Being under 30 in this industry can be intimidating, especially when working in a smaller agency surrounded by incredibly talented individuals. It's easy to feel like experience is the ultimate measure of ability. This award proves that talent, hard work, and passion count just as much.

What’s the most valuable piece of advice you've received in your career, and how has it shaped your approach?

"Don’t be afraid to make mistakes." No matter how much we strive for perfection, mistakes happen—even in an industry where precision is key. I’ve learned to own my mistakes, take responsibility, and use them as learning opportunities.

Who or what inspires you in your professional life, and why?

I don’t have one specific source of inspiration. I take ideas from everything I see in the industry and constantly think about how I can adapt them to benefit my clients and projects.

What do you believe is key to building strong relationships in the industry?

Being open-minded and respectful. There’s rarely one "right" answer to a problem in our industry—everyone has their own approach, and it’s important to respect different perspectives.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting in the industry, what would it be?

Take notes on everything! When you're starting out, you don’t always know what information will be useful, so it’s better to be overprepared.

Looking ahead, what do you hope to achieve in the next 5-10 years?

Personally, I want to have explored every continent—travel is a huge passion of mine, and I love that my industry sometimes allows me to combine work with travel. Professionally, I aspire to be leading a large operations team, directing major projects, and continuing to push boundaries in the events industry.

What's the craziest location you’ve ever dreamed of hosting an event?

Under the sea (don’t ask me how..)
