Ten of the meeting and event industry’s brightest talents have been named as the winners of the inaugural Tomorrow’s Talent initiative, launched by The Meetings Show in partnership with M&IT Magazine.

The initiative aims to champion young meeting and event planners and provide a platform for nurturing, mentoring and supporting the industry leaders of the future.

Entries were judged by a panel of industry experts including Paul Harvey, deputy editor of M⁢ Patrick Delaney, managing director of SoolNua; Fiona Macdonald, senior manager business events at VisitBritain; Ryan Curtis-Johnson, head of marketing and PR at DRPG; Leigh Cowlishaw, HBAA board member, and The Meetings Show’s commercial director, Ross Barker.

All of the under-30 entrants were assessed for their achievements to date, ability to face challenges, drive and ambition, engagement with the wider industry and the future impact they could make.

The 10 winners of Tomorrow’s Talent are:

  • Ashley Rowe, IET
  • Charlie Carvill, Hotel & Travel Solutions
  • Charlotte Kain, 99 City Road
  • Dominika Zaton, Abbott
  • Gracia Kabongo, Association of Colleges
  • Jade Woodall, BCD
  • Joonas Ahola, MeetingPackage.com
  • Max Klein, Diabetes UK
  • Shannon Barrow, Unicorn Events
  • Stephanie Utting, emc3

Ross Barker, commercial director of The Meetings Show, said: “We were delighted with the exceptional quality of entries received for Tomorrow’s Talent in it’s first year of running, and the judges had a really tough time narrowing it down to just 10 winners. We all agree that the young talents who have been chosen have not only already made a huge impact within their companies and the wider industry, but have the potential to do amazing things in the future.”

The Tomorrow’s Talent winners will now take part in a celebratory lunch with the judges, enjoy VIP attendance of The Meetings Show including tickets to the pre-show conference and hosted buyer welcome reception and have the chance to join the show’s advisory board for 2020.

Taking place on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 June at Olympia London, The Meetings Show will bring together more than 4,500 industry professionals for two days of meeting, networking and learning.
