Is there a standout piece of advice you received early on in your career that shaped your journey in the industry?
Yes, one that I always remember was from my manager who said to always remain calm in the midst of what could be perceived as chaos because there is always a solution. Think ahead and solutions will always be available.
How and where do you find inspiration?
I love receiving feedback from attendees, speakers and staff after each event. There are always lessons and ideas on how to improve your next event.
What’s the one thing you wish someone had told you when you were at the career stage of Tomorrow’s Talent entrants?
It may feel like you are only doing one thing but you’re not, planning events is a multi-skill practice and you will learn so much! Communication, project management, people management, custom service, budget management and so much more. Be open to learning as much as possible and growing as you learn.
What habits have you found to make you more productive?
Being able to effectively manage my time and planning ahead.
Could you share one great question to open conversation at a networking event?
If you could retrain in a different field would you? If so which one do you think you would mostly excel in?
What really stands out to you when reviewing Tomorrow’s Talent entries?
I look out for individuals who are passionate and able to demonstrate this via their work or projects they have completed. To do well in this industry you have to care about the details, people and the projects.
