Sixty-three per cent of EMEA planners said they were ‘less likely to consider’ sourcing events in the USA since Trump took office, according to the results of the latest Meetings Industry PULSE survey.
Optimism levels among planners in the EMEA region have also fallen sharply compared to last year, with only a third saying they are more optimistic than two months ago, compared to 46 per cent who said the same thing in March 2024.
However, the survey, released in March 2025 by Northstar Meetings Group + Cvent, found that EMEA planners are more optimistic than their US counterparts and have a strong pipeline of events.
Almost 40 per cent of the planners surveyed were sourcing events a year out or more while 45 per cent were sourcing events for four-to-six months time.
There were also strong levels of commitment to DEI policies and planners taking sustainability seriously.
