24 hours in Paris
Following The Meetings Show 2019, representatives from Atout France, the France Tourism Development Agency, whisked away five hosted buyers for a whistle-stop tour of Paris to see what the romantic capital of Europe has to offer for meetings and events.
The group reached Paris in a matter of hours after departing from the show, with a seamless journey by Eurostar. With 24 hours to take in the city’s newest and most exciting hotels and venues, a well-constructed itinerary allowed the group to visit three hotels (Trianon Rive Gauche, 1K Hotel and 25hours Hotel), two event venues (Bateaux Mouches and Chateau Form) and even enjoy a Parisian truffle tasting at Le BHV Marais.
Craig Hines, manager at HelmsBriscoe, said: “The whole fam trip was wonderfully hosted by Camille, Michel, Audrey and Charlotte. The coach transfers were comfortable and informative. As a result of each of hosts’ knowledge, I feel more able to speak knowledgably about Paris as a destination and will be much more confident to advise clients about the geography of Paris. Eurostar travel made the trip very straight forward – preferable to flying. This is a major selling point, particularly as we have the ability to privatise entire coaches for groups.”
Camille Larose from Atout France said: “24 hours is definitely not long enough to see everything Paris has to offer but hosting a fam trip like this is a really important first step to promote the destination. We had a mix of venue finding agencies, event management agencies and a corporate planner attend which was great. To any other destinations hosting a fam trip, I would recommend making sure you choose the perfect venues to showcase and allow enough time for both site inspections and activities.”
